Ingredients for Soaked Vadas
1 cup Black lentils (Urad Dal)
1 tea spoon Salt (Namak) or as per your taste
1 tea spoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
½ glass Water (Pani) to grind

Preparation for Vadas
  • Soak Black lentils (Urad Dal) at least for 5hrs in water you can keep overnight.
  • Take a mixer jar drain off the excess water from Black lentils (Urad Dal) & add the same in the jar add in it Salt (Namak), Cumin seeds (Jeera) & Water (Pani) grind to smooth thick paste & keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan on medium high flame drop vada paste small round shape & fry till golden colour.
  • Gently flip & fry from other side once done remove & keep aside to cool.
  • Take water in a big bowl place our fried vada in it & soak for 15 to 20 minutes.

Ingredients for Seasoned Curd
400g Curd (Dahi)
4 table spoon Sugar (Chini) or as per your taste
1 tea spoon Chaat masala
Water (Pani) as required

Preparation for Seasoned Curd
  • Add Curd (Dahi) in a bowl add in it Sugar (Chini) & Chaat Masala you can add water if required mix well to combine & keep it aside for later use.

Ingredients for Tamarind (Imli) chutney
½ Cup Seedless Dates / Khajoor
1 Table spoon Tamarind / Imli (Soaked for 1hrs in Luke warm water)
1 Tea spoon Cumin powder / Jeera powder
½ Tea spoon Salt / Namak (or as per taste)
1 Tea spoon Red chili powder / Lal mirch powder
3 to 4 Table spoon Water (Pani) for grinding

Preparation for Tamarind (Imli) Chutney
  • Soaked 1 Table spoon Tamarind (Imli) in ½ Cup Luke warm water for 1 hour.
  • Add Seedless Dates (Khajoor), Tamarind (Imli), Cumin powder (Jeera Powder), Salt (Namak), Red Chili powder (Lal mirch), 3 to 4 table spoon water in a mixer & grind to paste (You can use water as required) keep it aside for further use.

Ingredients for Assembling
Soaked vadas
Seasoned curd (Dahi)
Cumin powder (Jeera powder) to sprinkle
Red chilli powder (Lal mirch powder) to sprinkle
Tamarind chutney (Imli chutney)

Preparation for Assembling
  • Squeeze excess water from fried vada gently with your palm & placed the soaked vada in a serving platter.
  • Pour the Seasoned Curd (Dahi) on every vada evenly.
  • Pour Tamarind chutney (Imli chutney) on every vada.
  • Sprinkle Cumin powder (Jeera powder) all over vada.
  • Sprinkle Red chilli powder (Lal mirch powder) all over vada.
  • Your Dahi Bhalle is ready to serve refrigerate & serve it chilled.
